New York Home Stager

New-York-home-staging-1

Retaining the services of a New York home stager is always advised for property sellers and landlords in the greater NYC metropolitan area.  New York City is one of the most expensive real estate marketplaces in the world and buyers here are known for their no-compromise attitude and incredibly high expectations. Luckily, the home staging industry in New York City is second to none.  The very best real estate stagers in the entire world work here throughout the five boros of NYC.  There are also some property sellers who choose to pursue DIY staging, typically employing a staging consultant or interior designer for design guidance.

I operated my own staging consultancy business in New York City for many years, until I relocated personally and professionally.  It was bittersweet leaving my beloved NYC, but I can assure local property sellers that they are in very capable hands, as long as they utilize the services of the many local expert staging firms.

This discussion focuses on the residential and commercial property staging sector of the real estate marketing industry in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and The Bronx.

New York Home Stager Specialties

The NYC property market consists of a wide range of styles, prices and neighborhoods.  Offerings range from rental apartments to commercial rentals and from coops, condos and lofts to single and multiple family semi-attached and detached housing.

Many stagers focus on particular types of real estate or work in particular locations of the city.  There is no doubt that it is advantageous to hire the stager who best works with the type of property being enhanced for sale or rental.  This will help match budget and results to expectations in virtually all cases.

Some home stagers work with landlords and property management companies to stage rentals in both commercial and residential settings.  Other stagers concentrate on high-rise luxury coop apartment sales.  Still other staging professionals specialize in preparing detached family houses for sale. For best results, be sure to hire a stager who will be knowledgeable and experienced working with the specific type of real estate being offered.

Some stagers only work with ultra high-end housing, while others appeal to more realistic sellers who just want their properties to appeal to more budget-conscious buyers.

Don’t forget that it is always possible to hire a consultant to advise DIYers on the best design practices, while still allowing them to save the majority of the staging expense by doing the grunt work themselves.

New York Home Stager Fees

Nothing in New York City is considered cheap, but almost everything is considered a good value, given the high cost of virtually all life necessities. Staging is no exception to this rule.  Sure, there are some budget companies, but the best quality stagers usually cost far more than the national average.

However, since these professionals are at the literal top of the real estate food chain, the increased value on the property after staging will also rise considerably.  All in all, the value of even high cost staging services in NYC is tremendous and is sure to get any piece real estate sold or rented quickly and lucratively. Expect to pay a premium for an experienced stager, but consider this cost a good investment in your real estate marketing plan.  Statistics show that idyllic staging in NYC is expected by buyers and goes a long way towards facilitating successful sales.  To get an objective view of the true value of expert staging, be sure to talk to your chosen real estate broker or agent.

New York Home Stager Results

Stagers get homes sold or rented.  In New York City, stagers can work virtual miracles with difficult-to-market properties, often bringing in offers that far exceed even the most optimistic objectives. When shopping for an agent or broker, try to get them to include staging or at least share in the expense.  Given the high commission rate demanded by the best NYC real estate brokerages, this might be easily negotiated into the listing contract.  If not, then at least get a referral to a recommended stager who can help to prepare the property to receive the most discriminating buyers in the world; the NYC property consumer.

If I can lend a helpful voice on the subject, feel free to contact me anytime. I have decades of experience as one of New York’s original staging consultants and can surely provide direction for sellers and property managers who need an experienced opinion on any real estate-related topic.
