Asian Home Staging
Asian home staging utilizes ideas, aesthetics and concepts taken from Far Eastern cultures to improve the
look, feel and flow
of your home. East Asian staging generally means incorporating the design sensibilities of Japan, China, Korea and even Southeast Asian countries like Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia. Sometimes, the designs of Indian culture are included in Asian staging, although the proper term should be South Asian staging, when considering Indian-influenced décor.

Asian Interior Design
Oriental décor is very popular with both Asian and non-Asian people alike. The distinctive patterns, textures and styles of the Orient can enhance any home or
commercial
space. Asian aesthetics come in all manner of styles, just like Western styles do. Asian style can be traditional, ancient, modern, contemporary, natural, Zen or minimalistic. East Asian staging sometimes takes into account the practice of
Feng Shui,
while South Asian staging often integrates
Vaastu Shastra
practices. Asian property staging is usually practiced in areas of the world which attract buyers who will enjoy the appeal of Eastern decorating or in themed buildings, such as modern high rise
condos
or
coops.
Asian Home Staging Details
Asian design may be beneficial in some housing markets, but may be exclusionary in others. It can be risky to stage a home using purely Asian aesthetics, unless you are courting a particular type of buyer. I happen to love Asian décor and have used it in my own designs for years. However, I typically go with an Asian fusion type design, blending Eastern and Western ideologies together for an interesting and universally appealing look. This decor has been called World Style and has become a sought after decorating trend, especially among travelers and young professionals.
Asian Home Staging Advice
If you are staging to meet the aesthetic tastes of Asian homebuyers, then by all means, consider a purely Oriental influenced theme for your
home décor.
In this instance, I recommend going for the clean lines of a Zen, minimalistic contemporary or modern interpretation, as opposed to traditional style. If you are marketing the home to a more general audience of buyers, consider mixing in Asian themes with a more balanced design sensibility to appeal to the individual tastes of a varied purchaser pool.
